The company will be exhibiting its latest B-series full line of DC spark testers. DC testers excel at testing fine wire with delicate insulation, and group testing of multiple conductors as well as large wires requiring test voltages up to 50kVDC. These new designs combine the latest in control technology with the robust and reliable DC spark testing platform. These newDC spark testers share the same new features as the rest of the B-series equipment, including a split electrode design for easy string up and digital signal processor (DSP) based voltage regulation and fault detection. The fault detection circuit has been upgraded and test voltage is now monitored directly from the electrode, instead of a transformer winding. The fault circuitry can differentiate between four types of fault conditions: simple pinholes, a series of closely spaced pinholes, direct metal contact from the center conductor to the electrode, and gross lengths of bare wire. The new “RC” controller comes fixed to the unit, but can be detached and mounted remotely up to 60m away from the test module/electrode. It has a large alphanumeric display/ user interface and can be rotated in its bracket to accommodate different viewing angles.
