Boost for data transmission

The telecommunications company GTD is to install an undersea cable along 3,500km (2,174 miles) of Pacific coastline to improve connectivity with its operations in Colombia and Peru. Chilean

Google andChilean officials have already announced a $140 million expansion of the company’s data center in Chile. The undersea cable project will improve the service and operation of GTD’s network of seven data centers in Chile, Peru and Colombia.

The fiber optic cable will be submerged 2,000m (6,561 feet) below sea level.
