Zambia’s network nears completion

Consumer/producers on the rise

Zambia’s minister of communication and transport, Brian Mushimba, has reported that the laying of an optic fiber network in various parts of the country is nearly complete, with only 10 percent of the works yet to be done. He added that the construction of communication towers is also in progress. The minister spoke in Durban, the location of a meeting of SADC ministers. Mr Mushimba said the nationwide efforts in communication infrastructure will increase access to communication by 94 percent. The government believes affordable access is essential, attaching great importance to the provision of easy access to communications as a vehicle for achieving its socio-economic targets.

Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) is to install solar panels, free of charge, on the roofs of 640 villas in Hatta as part of an effort to put Dubai among the most sustainable cities in the world. The project also supports the Shams Dubai initiative and the Hatta comprehensive development plan, and seeks to contribute to the protection of the environment for future generations.
