Vattenfall has awarded Kraken Subsea Solutions with a contract for employer’s representation for the inter-array cable installation at the Kriegers Flak offshore wind project. The French engineering and consultancy company will provide supervision services to Vattenfall during the offshore installation operations at the 605MW wind farm, which will take place between July 2019 and November 2020. The project is scheduled to be fully commissioned before the end of 2021. Kraken will be involved in all of the installation operations for the inter-array cable package, including pre-trenching, cable pull-in, laying and burial, as well as termination and testing. JDR Cables will manufacture 70km of aluminum core inter-array cables and provide a range of termination accessories for the Kriegers Flak project, under a contract secured in March 2019. In November 2016, Vattenfall won the tender to build thewind farmwith the lowest ever bid of €49.9 per MWh, 58 percent below the original cap of €120 per MWh.

The Prysmian group has been given an overall score of 73/100 to reach the maximum level (Gold recognition level) in the 2019 EcoVadis Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) assessment. EcoVadis is an international platform used by companies (including Deutsche Telekom, RFI, Schneider, Rexel, BT and Bombardier) to evaluate suppliers and monitor sustainability in their global supply chain. The methodology is based on international sustainable development standards and covers 21 criteria across four themes (environment, labor and human rights, ethics, and sustainable procurement). Furthermore, the EcoVadis assessment results can be used to respond to requests from customers on the group’s CSR performance. Prysmian Group’s score of 73/100 is up by three points, compared to the 2017 evaluation. Overall, the group is positioned above the average of all companies assessed by EcoVadis in the same industry, and is ranked in the top one percent of companies assessed by EcoVadis in the wiring and wiring device manufacturing industry.
