California coast plans

German Baden- WuerttembergAG (EnBW) has announced a joint venture with Trident Winds Inc to develop an up to 1GW floating wind project off the central coast of California. The newly established subsidiary, EnBW North America, has joined forces with Seattle-based Trident Winds to work on the Morro Bay project, which is expected to have a capacity of between 650MW and 1,000MW. The venture will seek to secure the site lease from the Bureau of Ocean Energy Management along with a grid-connection agreement. This is EnBW’s first foray into US offshore wind.
