Hiroshi, global product manager, Molex. “Terminating micro connectors and wires becomes increasingly challenging as a result. The Molex micro-termination method offers customers a true separable connection and huge space savings.”

The cables are offered in cat 6a, cat 5e and cat 5e slim construction versions, and comply with all RoHS directives. The fire properties of the new cables meet FAR (Federal Aviation Regulation), Airbus and Boeing requirements. “Our new high-temperature cables are perfect for use in in-flight systems, cabin management applications, ground vehicle trunks, backbone avionics, high-temp testing and for general military, avionics or aerospace use,” said Mark Hearn, MilesTek product manager.

Three capabilities are available: interposer flex to micro FPC connector, which offers distal end terminations and proximal ends; board-to- board on interposer, utilizing a SlimStack board-to-board interposer with two wire routing orientations; and direct to ASIC, where a cable terminates directly on ASIC. Ethernet in hot places MilesTek has released a new series of high-temperature-rated ethernet cables, designed for aerospace and extreme high- temperature environment applications. The new cable assemblies feature FEP jackets, rated for a temperature range of –55°C to +150°C, and a double-shielded cable with both 100 percent foil and 85 percent braid shields to provide maximum EMI and RFI protection. micro-termination
