Connectors agreement AFL an d Senko Advanced Components have signed a Technology Transfer and Patent License agreement for SN connectors and adapters. Under the agreement, AFL will manufacture SN connectors and adapters while the standard is under development in IEC as IEC 61754-36 type SAC connector. The SN interface has already been adopted in transceiver specifications QSFP-DD and OSFP MSAs – the new specifications for the next generation of pluggable transceivers for 200Gbps, 400Gbps, and 800Gbps data center interconnects (DCI).
the optical path. SN connectors provide individual and independent duplex fiber breakout at a quad-style transceiver (QSFP, QSFP-DD and OSFP) said to be more efficient, reliable and scalable than the MPO connector. New FO cables Tripp Lite, a manufacturer of power protection and connectivity solutions, has introduced a range of 40 new fiber optic patch cables and breakout cables to connect switches and other equipment in 400GbE networks. The cables are compatible with QSFP-DD transceivers with an eight-lane electrical interface to support 400Gbps speeds (50Gb per lane). Available in single-mode and multimode types, the fiber optic cables have different combinations of connectors to ensure compatibility with an array of equipment. New end types include CS and 16-fiber MPO connectors for use with QSFP-DD transceivers.
