Norway to Denmark cable starts work
Altibox has announced that the 173km Skagenfiber submarine fiber optic cable between Hirtshals (Denmark) and Larvik (Norway) is now in operation. The launch was celebrated with a digital commemoration. “It is gratifying to see that Norway is increasingly equipped with fiber connections, both in andout of the country. Until quite recently, Norway was more like a dead end … on the international fiber cable map,” said district and digitalization minister Linda Hofstad Helleland, during the event.

Skagenfiber is part of a European fiber network that Altibox is establishing.
Until recently, most international data traffic has traveled via Sweden and on to
