Charging network

The electric vehicle (EV) charging network Electrify America LLC has introduced a new program to add solar-powered canopies at station locations. The first Electrify America DC fast charger site to feature a solar powered canopy is in Baker, California, where the solar panels charge an on-site battery energy storage system (BESS). The company expects to have over 125 fully operational BESS installations in 2021, with 75 located at California stations.

To date, Electrify America has opened 500 vehicle charging stations across the US. By the end of 2021, the company plans to install, or have under development, around 800 total charging stations with about 3,500 DC fast chargers in 45 states. The network is investing $2 billion over ten years in zero-emission vehicle infrastructure, education and access.
