Rewind lines

Windak’s complete payoff, take-up and rewind lines minimise cycle times and make the reel-changing procedure quick, safe and easy. Efficient rewinding requires machines with short set-up time and an efficient flow of handling the full and empty reels. Windak’s lines have been designed for fast reel changes, accurate tension control, high line speed and high quality winding. The rewind lines can be based on the complete payoff and take-up range, either tyre-driven design or with conventional drive pin design. Both designs are of portal type, with traversing on floor rails. The Windak Premium has floating pintles and a

second tyre drive as options. The Windak payoffs and take-ups range from 400 to 2,600mm flange diameter. Test equipment, printing and other auxiliary equipment are available for integration with the line. The company can customise a rewind line with caterpillar length counter, automatic cutting station, changeover station, CO 2 accumulator and servo- driven tensioning dancer for sensitive cables. Features and options of the rewind lines include synchronisation of payoff and take-up with fast acceleration and deceleration for minimised cycle times;

driving the reel on the flange or with conventional drive pin; independently controlled pintles; and semi-automatic unloading of the reel. Floating pintles make the reel-changing process quick and easy for the operator. All Windak rewind lines include running to set length at set speed. Optional remote-control operation allows safer and faster reel changes. The touchscreen HMI is programmable to suit the operator’s needs, and servo- controlled traversing allows more accurate winding and layer wind. Windak OÜ www.windakgroup.com
