in order to achieve optimal quality, efficiency, production costs and EH&S concerns. Understanding the material type, surface preparation, processing and end-use application is necessary in the determination of the right lubricant. Condat SA Booth 1508

Guill Tool & Engineering Co, Inc Booth TBC

Condat’s lubricants range for the wire drawing industry offers a wide choice of soaps, surface treatment products, and neat and soluble oils. To accommodate the diverse needs of wire drawing plants, the company develops lubricants for specific requirements and guides customers to the best lubrication strategy. The company’s eco-designed lubricants for wire drawing, which include borax- and sulphur-free products, are rated through its own self-scoring Lubriscore® programme. Known for its products dedicated to steel wires and cables, the company will highlight at Interwire 2023 lubricants for electrical wire applications. For aluminium wire, Condat offers high lubricating performance soluble and neat oils that are claimed to have excellent resistance to oxidation. They are applicable to operations from rod breakdown to fine wire drawing. For copper wire, a range of water-based lubricants are available for hot rolling of wire rod, and cold drawing operations from rod breakdown to fine wire. They can extend bath lifetime due to their stable formulation. In addition to providing high-tech lubricants, the company is keen on solving day-to-day issues. With long expertise in the wire industry, Condat’s experts give technical guidelines for the selection and use of the most suitable drawing lubricants for a given application. Issues that can be addressed by the Condat team include reducing total wire drawing costs, reducing the amount of dust generated in the workshop, improving productivity and optimising the use of precoatings. During Interwire, Condat will hold a course from 10:15am to 11:00am on Monday, 13 May. Wire drawing market manager Brad Andrews will share best practices to optimise lubrication in the wire drawing process. The selection and type of lubricant used should consider various factors

Guill Tool & Engineering has introduced a new single-point concentricity extrusion crosshead that uses micro fine adjustment screws for precise concentricity adjustment. The precision of concentricity reaches 0.008" or finer per revolution.

Effegidi International SpA Hall A, Booth 867

Established in Colorno, Italy, Effegidi International SpA has been operating in the field of laminated films for cable shielding since 1973. It specialises in slitting, laminating and coating technical laminates and single-layer films suitable to protect all types of electrical cables, in particular data cables, telecommunication cables and automotive cables.

Single-point concentricity adjustment

This single point concentricity adjust ment is a Guill innovation for the extru sion of thin-walled jacketing and preci sion ID/OD tubing. One adjustment bolt controls 360° of adjustment. Features of the single-point crosshead include a patented cam-lock deflector for quick changeovers, with a residence time of one minute at 0.5 lb/hr material flow, optimised usage with extruders measuring ½" and ¾", and a maximum die ID of 0.25" The Guill single-point crosshead offers flexibility to users. It not only accepts both vacuum and micro-air accessories, but is also suitable for pressure and sleeving applications. Fluoropolymer designs are available on request. Effegidi creates laminated films for cable shielding

The consists of products meeting the needs of electrical, electrostatic or other kinds of insulation. Laminated and single-layer films are known for their versatility and technical properties (eg mechanical and chemical resistance). In addition, special films, such as free-edge tapes and laser-cut discontinuous tapes, can be manufactured. The wide range of items offered is the result of cooperation with an R&D department that enables the company to serve many customers with very different characteristics and requirements, and to ensure safe and efficient transmission, even with cables designed for challenging environments. With the recent entry of Max Streicher SpA into the corporate structure, Effegidi has become part of the German Streicher group, as part of a corporate project aim ing to sustain technological investments to offer a more effective service.
