❍ The site of Velleuer’s new building

Increasing volumes lead to expanded premises

Following years of increasing business volumes, Velleuer – a Lesjöfors company – has decided to expand its facilities with a new building. The larger space will provide room for automated processes and logistics. In 2018, Velleuer bought a property adjacent to its existing factory in Velbert, Germany, and the decision to build an extension followed in December 2020. In April 2021, the first excavator hit the ground and construction work could begin. The new facility will have the latest equipment for the manufacture of com-

plex stampings. The existing factory will continue with the manufacture of wire spring products. There will also be more space for value- added processes such as the assembly of strip components, and in-line washing. Frank Jahn, MD of Velleuer, commented, “By separating the production of stamp- ings from wire springs and forms we gain not only more space and a better workflow for our employees but also more streamlined logistics, which our customers will benefit from when it comes to an even higher service level.”

The new building will meet the latest requirements in terms of energy efficiency, which is a high-priority area in the Lesjöfors Group’s sustainability objectives. The newly gained space is necessary in order to cope with increased business volumes and the growing requirements of process automation. Velleuer plans to move into the new building by the end of 2021. Lesjöfors AB www.lesjoforsab.com Velleuer GmbH & Co KG www.velleuer.de
