Traction gas springs Lesjöfors’ growing product range now in- cludes traction gas springs that provide immediate power and safety in applica- tions that require controlled closing.

A traction gas spring differs from a conventional gas spring in that it works in the opposite direction: it contracts instead of being pushed out. Unloaded, the piston rod is inside the cylinder; under load, the force works to pull the rod back into the cylinder. It also has flat progression, which means a relatively even force throughout the stroke, unlike a wire spring where the force increases gradually. Traction gas springs can be used in a va- riety of diversified industrial applications.
