and new technology development. The company states that the wire die systems it has developed contribute to faster wire drawing speeds and improved quality and productivity. The company has provided the wire drawing industry with wire die solutions for more than 50 years, from the ParaLoc pressure system to the recycling pro- gramme that Paramount’s inserts make possible. In addition to standard wire drawing dies, Paramount produces shaving dies serving both the valve spring wire and the stainless wire markets. In shaped dies, Paramount supplies ferrous and non ferrous wire producers. The company has been producing PCDs since it was founded. In bar dies, Paramount has developed new geometries designed to deliver improved tool life, and straighter and better finished quality bars. Paramount has a focus on technology and quality for all of these areas, and continues to search for, develop and deliver solutions in the material science and instrumentation areas. Working closely with customers allows the company to develop new material science, treatments and designs for im proved die performance. Paramount can deliver die solutions for all wire drawing applications, in all shapes and sizes. Paramount Die www.paradie.com PWM Ltd 411 PWM will exhibit its range of manual cold welding machines, including the popular M101 model. The products will be presented by Joe Snee Associates on booth 411. The robust, heavy-duty M101 cold welder is environment- and user-friendly. It requires no external power source or set up, and is quick and easy to operate. Designed for copper wire from 1 to 3.6mm (0.04" to 0.141") and aluminium from 1 to 5mm (0.04" to 0.197"), the M101 can be used on a workbench or supplied with a cart. It produces reliable welds that are stronger than the parent material, helping manufacturers to improve productivity and reduce waste. Also on show will be PWM’s BM10, M25 and BM30 cold welders for wire, strip and profile from 0.1 to 1.8mm (0.0039" to 0.071"). Machines and dies (industry standard or custom made) are engineered in-house

Customers are asked to bring their surplus machinery lists and photos for evaluation. Mathiasen Machinery, Inc www.mathiasen-machinery.com NDC Technologies, Inc 505 The Beta LaserMike products team from NDC Technologies will present its complete end-to-end measurement system solution – from the extruder to the puller – for the quality production of wire and cable. The line-up includes the latest products that advance process and quality control, increase productivity and deliver manufacturing savings. NDC’s LaserSpeed Pro M series gauge ac curately and reliably measures the length and speed of long, continuous cylindrical products that cannot be well guided, and that move off-axis and out of the meas urement range. Applications include bare conductor wire, insulated primary wire, metal bar/rod and metal cord. Within the AccuScan Pro Multi-Strand system, the AccuScan Pro gauge provides 100 per cent on-line inspection of multi strand wire. The measurement system accurately measures the diameter of mul tiple wires simultaneously, and instantly detects any missing and broken strands. Other products on display at the booth will include a LayScan cable lay length measurement system for twisted pairs; AccuScan 6000 series four-axis diameter and ovality gauge; LN3000 series three axis lump and neckdown detector; CapScan for drift-free, in-process capacitance measurements; CenterScan 2010 for non-contact eccentricity measurement; LaserSpeed Pro non contact length and speed measurement with laser precision; Preheater in-process wire preheating solution with intelligent temperature measurement; BenchMike Pro off-line diameter and ovality sample inspection system; and InControl/ DataPro advanced process visualisation and control systems. to ensure accuracy. Dies can be made for welding round wire, strip or profile, and for joining materials with different diameters. The company also makes dies for welding trapezoidal wire. PWM’s comprehensive range includes energy-efficient air-hydraulic, pneumatic, electro-pneumatic and electro-hydraulic powered cold pressure welding machines for wire sizes from 0.3 to 30mm (0.0118" to 1.181"). Izory HD zirconia parts

The company states that its Izory HD zirconia parts have been shown to double maintenance cycles, reduce costs and improve wire quality. Izory HD is specified on drawing lines because of its ceramic properties. The US manufacturing starts with in house-made powder, and the company’s forming and grinding capabilities allow it to make almost any precise shape that a process requires, including multi-wire capstans, rod rings, single wire step cones, pulleys, eyelets and guides. Refractron’s experienced engineer Adam Osekoski will be present at the booth to discuss customers’ needs. Refractron Technologies Corp www.refractron.com
