PS Costruzioni Meccaniche Srl 10 B21 PS Costruzioni Meccaniche has designed a fast automatic line for producing small coils lengths (5 to 50m) that is also capable of winding cables onto coils of 100m in length, depending on the diameter of the cable. The PS 250/12 line can work with a Defilé unwinding system (flyer payoff) or a motorised payoff stand (Deroulé system), or with both unwinding systems.

The group continues to make major investments as part of a business plan geared towards innovation with a view to Industry 4.0, and which in turn incorporates ESG (environmental, social and governance) criteria. Workplace safety, which has always been central to Pittini’s activities, has become essential, and the company has implemented measures and health protocols in its plants to continue to operate safely. 10 F59 Pourtier produces heavy-duty rotating machines – rigid and planetary stranders, single twist cablers and drum twisters – to produce all types of power cables, including overhead, low-, medium-, high- and extra-high-voltage cables, and submarine cables. The company offers a complete range of heavy-duty stranders, cablers, screening and armouring lines for ferrous and non-ferrous cables. Its high-efficiency multi-wire concentric stranding line is used for low- and medium-power cable production. Pittini Group www.pittini.it Pourtier

In addition to standard wire drawing dies, Paramount produces shaving dies serving both the valve spring wire and the stainless wire markets. In shaped dies, Paramount supplies ferrous and non-ferrous wire producers. The company has been producing PCDs since it was founded. In bar dies, Paramount has developed new geometries designed to deliver improved tool life, and straighter and better finished quality bars. Paramount has a focus on technology and quality for all of these areas, and continues to search for, develop and deliver solutions in the material science and instrumentation areas. Working closely with customers allows the company to develop new material science, treatments and designs for improved die performance. Paramount can deliver die solutions for all wire drawing applications, in all shapes and sizes. Paramount Die www.paradie.com 12 B28 The Pittini Group has released its certified sustainability report, focused on the direction and strategic objectives it has undertaken to reduce its environmental footprint, following the Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations 2030 Agenda and offering its contribution in tackling climate change. steel production and transformation activities, reconciling industrial development and environmental protection has been a challenge. In the case of Pittini steel, recovery and recycling activities are made possible by production centred on electric furnace technology based on scrap recovery. The continuous reduction in the use of raw materials of natural origin, together with the recovery/recycling activities of residual products in internal processes and “industrial symbiosis” practices, are an objective for the Pittini Group. A zero-waste initiative, which began in the mid-1990s, aims to contain the emissions in any environmental matrix (air, water, soil, noise, emissions and waste), combined with the rational use of resources, and the sustainable management of plants and their positive relationship with the territory. PS Costruzioni’s PS 250/12 automatic coiling line

The final coils are intended for the “do it-yourself” market, and are sold to large stores and shopping centres, where the quality of stratification and the final shape are essential features. For obtaining enhanced final presentation, the coils are tied up then conveyed to the oven unit, and wrapped using thermo-shrinking film in polypropylene (PP). At the exit of the oven, a label is printed and applied to the product. The line can handle 2 to 12mm insulated cables, to produce coils with an outer diameter of 90 to 250mm, inner core of 70 to 130mm, and height of 30 to 130mm. PS Costruzioni Meccaniche Srl www.pscm.it 09 B41 British company PWM (Pressure Welding Machines) Ltd will exhibit its full range of high-performance cold welders, including the EP500 rod welder. Visitors will also be able to see demonstrations of PWM’s P1500 machine, capable of welding material up to 30mm (1.181"). PWM reports that sales of the pneumatically powered EP500 more than doubled during 2021. The rod welder can be connected to a central air supply or a dedicated compressor and only needs electrical power for its operating system, making it popular with manufacturers looking for energy-efficient equipment to support green production initiatives. No set up is required and the EP500, for rod from 5 to 15mm (0.197" to 0.59"), is low maintenance, user friendly and safe. PWM Ltd

Pourtier high-speed tangential taping head

Pourtier states that all of its machines are made to high standards in design and manufacturing for the production of all types of high-voltage and extra-high voltage power cable, from overhead cable (including ACCC™ , ACSS-TW and ACSR-TW) to insulated AC type cable (using Milliken conductor) or DC type (using large, round compacted conductor or trapezoidal wires). Pourtier will exhibit on the Setic stand, to show its high-speed tangential taping head; taping/armouring machines (tangential, oblique, concentric and longitudinal); and applicators for various taping processes.
