Exhibitors at wire 2022

Wires drawn on the MMH 112 line show homogeneous characteristics and narrow tolerance properties, such as electrical conductivity, surface quality and mechanical values. Maschinenfabrik Niehoff

High-precision manufactured compo nents, a smooth wire path and sophis ticated control technology enable the system to run reliably at speeds of up to 40m/s, increasing production output while reducing energy consumption based on the production volume. The drawing machine and the annealer stand on integrated vibration-damping machine feet, while the spooler is mounted on a base plate. This makes special foundations or grouting unnecessary. All motors used in the line are integrated.

NDC Technologies’ original LayScan was a solution for accurately and consistently measuring the lay length of twisted pairs at the cabler. The new LayScan Pro takes lay length measurement a step further, enabling cable makers to precisely monitor and control the lay length of twisted-pair cables as they are being made inside the bow of a twinning machine. NDC will also be debuting its new AccuScan Pro single-axis diameter gauge, which provides 100 per cent inspection of multi-strand wire during production. AccuScan Pro accurately measures the diameter of multi-strand wire and detects missing and broken strands, simultaneously. The system monitors processes in real time for a complete view of product quality. The latest LaserSpeed Pro M series gauge accurately and reliably measures during production the length and speed of long, continuous cylindrical products that bounce and cannot be well guided, that move off-axis, or move out of the measurement range. Other products on display at the stand will include a CenterScan 2010 for non-contact insulation diameter and conductor eccentricity measurements; LN3000 series for three-axis lump and neckdown detection; CapScan for drift-free, in-process capacitance measurements; EFL Pro for excess fibre length measurements; SRL Pro for on line structural return loss prediction; BenchMike Pro off-line diameter and ovality sample part inspection system; and InControl/DataPro advanced process visualisation and control. On show will be a multi-wire drawing line (MMH 112 + RM 202 + S 632), a BMV 16 rotary braiding machine with integrated BAS 800 take-up and payoff unit, and a D 632 double-twist bunching machine with ARP 630 payoff. The MMH 112 + RM 202 + S 632 multi-wire drawing line is designed for copper and aluminium wire.

GmbH & Co KG www.niehoff.de Numalliance SAS

10 A05/06 Numalliance is developing new solutions to meet the requirements of Industry 4.0. The company alreadyhadexperiencewith integrating its standard bending or end forming CNC machines and presses into cells with robots and linear transfers. The design and implementation of a cell with robots, AGVs, AMRs and control systems for an international group manufacturing agricultural equipment was the starting point for a new challenge. The aim of the project was to create a smart solution to provide the ability to pick up the tubes necessary for produc tion from the warehouse; to produce the more than 1,000 parts registered in the system; to control these parts; and to store the finished parts in stock. An MES system was linked to the cell to transform data into actionable insights that raise productivity and sustainability.

BMV 16 rotary braiding machine

The MMH 112 uses a technology that enables a straight wire inlet, which results in fine wire quality and fewer wire breaks. It can be fully integrated into the digital system provided by Niehoff, allowing full use of the advantages of the Niehoff Digital Assistant+. The modular-system MMH 112 machines are available tailored to individual requirements with one or two levels and in three different lengths for 21, 25 or 31 drafts. The new RM 202 multi-wire resistance annealer uses the 2/3-zone system with or without wire reheating, depending on the wire diameter. The result is optimum wire drying and economical energy consumption. A new transformer technology for the annealer reduces energy losses by up to 10 per cent, and idle power is almost eliminated. The S 632 dynamic single spooler also has some new features: all electrical equipment is located in the machine housing, and the spool shaft is connected with a directly coupled motor – belts are no longer necessary, which makes maintenance easier.

Numalliance’s FTX CNC bending equipment

Most of Numalliance’s standard machines can now also be integrated into cells with robots/cobots, and connected to an MES. The aim is to provide more efficient and practical machines, including wireless accessories and performing software. Another of the company’s goals is to meet the needs of e-mobility and its requirements for new components such as busbars and hairpins for power transmission between the battery and electric motors. It has developed and modified its existing range of machines to offer flexible and efficient tools to bend copper or aluminium. Numalliance www.numalliance.com
