it a cost-effective method of sheathing medium, high and extra-high voltage power cables. BWE continues to develop new products and applications, including wire arc additive manufacturing (WAAM), 3D printing, electric vehicles and precious metals.

For wire 2022, Bass is extending its product range for tapping in the fastener industry. The German manufacturer now offers its AMGB V nut tap starting from diameter M8x1.25, or M8x1, and corresponding UNC and UNF threads. The AMGB V is designed to be connected to the shank via a cartridge. If the torque gets too high, only the cartridge breaks, leaving the tool and shank unharmed. Another new product is the AMGB RM, which has the shank welded on. The combined product is available with a bent or straight shank to match the machine connection and is particularly used for small dimensions. Bass has also expanded its range of tapping tools for union nuts, and added new coatings as well as new thread types, such as G-threads, and dimensions up to M36x2. The combination of tap and reamer is especially used to produce union nuts. Threads for union nuts can be produced in a reversing tapping cycle. With factors such as fastener raw materials, the chosen forming process, the required tolerances and other operating conditions, it can become difficult for nut manufacturers to select the right tool. Bass can not only take care of tool configuration, but can also offer service for the entire process, through to series production support. Information on how to combine long tool life, process reliability and economical production in the fastener industry will be presented at the Bass stand in Düsseldorf. 11 G26 BWE Ltd is a British engineering company specialising in continuous extrusion machines and cold pressure welders. Conform™ and Conklad™ are established continuous extrusion technologies in the non-ferrous, cable and tube industries. Typical applications for Conform include copper and aluminium rectangular wire (magnet wire for transformers), solid aluminium conductor (SAC for cables), copper busbar, trolley wire and other shaped conductors, round refrigeration tube, and multiport or PFC tubes in different alloys. Conklad technology is available for applications such as AS wire, OPGW, CATV, sheathed composite cores, reinforced aluminium wire and similar products requiring an aluminium sheath or non ferrous cladding. BWE’s SheathEx™ technology is a solution for seamless aluminium sheathing of high-voltage cables. ‘Corrugated’ (helical or annular) or ‘Smooth’ options are available. The SheathEx process provides a continuous and seamless aluminium sheath with no weld. The aluminium sheath has good conductivity and environmental properties, and is light in weight. By using standard CCR aluminium rod, the material costs are low, making
