wire 2020 Cogegum GFR 1401-76 and GFR 1401-190 are intended for T3 primary insulation and ABS system wiring, and can optimise technical performance; they have been designed to comply with the most relevant automotive cable standards, including ISO 6722 Class C and SAE J 1128. Polidiemme G grades are used as insulating materials for EV charging cables, and ensure high flexibility and reliability; they are fully compliant with EN 50620 standard. The new experimental grade Cogegum GFR 1709-27 has been specifically developed for ultra-flexible T4 battery cables for the next generations of electric vehicles. All grades adopt silane-grafting technology to achieve crosslinking, and their flame retardancy is entrusted to a non-halogenated system, so that the non-corrosiveness of automotive cables made with the materials facilitates the end-of-life recycling of vehicles. Established in 1971, Padanaplast has pioneered the technology of XLPE silane crosslinkable polyethylene compounds since 1978 for wire and cable, pipe and fitting applications. The company started production of HFFR compounds for cable sheathing and wire insulation in 1982. In 2017, it became a member of Finproject Group, a major Italian player in crosslinkable polyolefin compounding, extrusion and moulding. Padanaplast Srl www.padanaplast.com Companies across multiple product segments have collaborated with Paramount Die over the last two years to evaluate a large range of geometries, coatings and constructions in order to find the optimal solution for shaving wire and for drawing shaped wire. Advanced wire shaving solutions developed with Paramount Die are now claimed to outperform other shaving dies in head-to-head evaluations thanks to the combined efforts. Standard shaving dies are offered as insert-based and cased solutions. Several standard sizes, geometries, coatings and casing options are available to provide immediate improvements and a basis for future experimentation. Paramount Die Company Stand: 10 B38

from the reel. Developed by Pentre’s design engineers in conjunction with European machine manufacturers, the fully functioning special process reels meet the high standards demanded by modern production facilities. Specifically for the use during production start-up, the reels are available in metric versions from 300 to 1,000mm, and imperial sizes from 12" to 22". The reels are usually manufactured to bespoke customer requirements but can also be produced to meet the DIN 46395 standard dimensions, if required. The flanges are moulded from Pentre’s own specially selected, high-grade virgin acrylonitrile butadiene styrene (ABS), which combines strength with lightness, without becoming brittle. The barrels are tapered for ease of product removal and manufactured in high-grade steel to maximise strength, with a toughened paint finish sub- sequently applied for protection. One flange is easily removable by a series of screws, with the main body being kept in place using high-tensile strength steel bolts and unique locknuts. The precision-manufactured parts and construction ensure that the reels are in balance for high-speed applications.

Customer-specific shaving die solutions are delivering superior quality and purity of shaved wire rod to manufacturers drawing stainless steel wire, valve spring wire, cold heading wire, aluminium wire and brass wire. Innovative shaped profile dies, developed with Paramount Die, offer increased surface quality, tight tolerance control, and wire/bar straightness. Ovate shaped wire drawing solutions have more than doubled drawing speeds while increasing high-quality finished tons.

With technical shape engineering capability, Paramount can design single and progression drafts to meet specific needs. Shaped dies are available in ovates, rectangles, squares, hexagons and custom shapes. Standard carbide blank sizes, coatings and casing options are available to mimic current drawing practices. A collaborative team can then evaluate the performance of the drawing die to deliver recommendations for progression and shape design improvements. Wire production efficiencies are improving because each die design from Paramount is rooted in the needs and feedback of each individual customer, their production process, and the market segment they serve. The customer and Paramount Die’s technical staff then put the dies and production processes through improvement trials to determine the optimal solution. Due to the company’s production versatility and design capabilities, it can offer an extensive range of non-standard traverse widths or barrel diameters. The barrels can also be manufactured from aluminium or stainless steel material, and supplied untreated, anodised, painted or powder coated, with a further option of galvanising on steel barrels. Nylon or hardened steel bushes can be implemented and an in-house component replacement service is available. Pentre Group Ltd www.pentregroup.com
