provides more flexibility in wire forming capability, while the 200 msec servo-cut assures fast and quiet production. Standard features include DXF, LRA and XYZ import, animated bending simulation with collision detection, auto pilot speed/load monitoring, touchscreen monitors, Microsoft Windows, 5 hp wire payoff, “Dial-A-Service” for remote support via the Internet, and a maintenance module that reminds users of necessary work, for zero downtime.

Gaia by AESA Cortaillod is a new automatic, high voltage, low frequency and insulation resistance multiple wire tester. The completely redesigned Gaia automatic tester for up to 208 wires can reduce testing time. It tests the dielectric strength up to 5kV AC and 6kV DC on cables built with pairs or quads. It also measures insulation resistance (IR) and low frequency (LF) parameters (RCKE), and derives high frequency (HF) parameters (attenuation, impedance, phase, propagation and crosstalk). Gaia is modular and is available in three different sizes – Small (8-24 wires), Medium (32-104 wires) and Large (112-208 wires), with corresponding connecting frames and self-cutting knives for quick mounting of all kinds of cable packages, and sizes up to 2.5mm.

Quality monitoring systems ensure that each part of the machine is manu- factured and controlled to the standards appropriate to its intended use. With a focus on customer requirements, AEI stranders are fully customised, and claimed to deliver flawless production with tens of years of trouble-free operation. “From design to material selection and manufacturing, we study every detail, analysing every aspect of manufacturing of each component in order to provide reliable, efficient equipment that in the end, saves customers both time and money,” said executive director Alok Jain. At wire 2020, the AEI team will showcase new developments on AEI stranders for high production flexibility, optimised speeds, reduced downtime and minimum maintenance efforts. Available options include automatic bend setup with AccuCal, easy production statistics with AccuTrack, 24/7 online AIM Academy training, Faro, Romer And Aicon CMM communications for automatic programmer corrections, integration with robots, and STEP and IGES files import. In all instances, wire can be fed directly from a coil, straightened, bent and cut using a software package that provides flexibility and simplicity in programming. AIM, Inc www.aimmachines.com Associated Engineers & Industrials (AEI Machines) provides highly engineered rigid stranding machines for the production of energy conductors. Since 1971, AEI Machines has delivered solutions and has been manufacturing various types of rotating cable machines for stranding, screening, armouring and laying-up of power cables and overhead conductors. The company is headquartered in Ajmer, India, with sales and service capability around the world. AEI Machines is focused on the development of each aspect of the rigid strander, to produce machines that raise productivity benchmarks and working standards in the cable factory. It is equipped with active and passive safety systems. The control and testing units are separated from each other, to allow the testing unit to be locked in a controlled protection cage. All of the modules, which are built to be robust for the rough environment of the shop floor, stand on wheeled trolleys for flexibility and easy relocation. The Gaia HV, LF, IR multiple cable tester is an automatic solution to characterise instrumentation and multi-pair telecom cables up to 208 wires.
