Records have fallen. Increased visitor numbers. More exhibitors than ever. We are obviously talking about wire 2018 in Düsseldorf, Germany. Our review of the week-long extravaganza, which starts on page 34, highlights just some of the companies that attended throughout the week at the Fairgrounds. When one exhibitor commented that they “relished” the opportunity to talk face to face with clients, it emphasised just how important the biennial trip to Düsseldorf really is. One UK business also said they had “taken 30 per cent more enquiries than the previous shows and these have come from all corners of the globe,” highlighting the international appeal of the exhibition. The buoyant market is also emphasised by our main story on page 7 with Davis-Standard strengthening its Asian foothold with Cooper Standard expanding its relationship with the US-based business for its extruders. Records fall as firms ‘relish’ chance to meet at wire 2018

Cooper Standard has been a customer since 2012 but is now placing enormous emphasis on the customer service being received in its Asian market. The expansion of Davis-Standard’s Suzhou operation in China is seen as a major boost in strengthening the relationship even further.
