WCA January 2020

Düsseldorf – home to some 600,000 inhabitants – becomes the centre of attention for the wire and cable industry in March. More than 1,400 exhibitors and 42,000 trade visitors from 80 countries will descend on Germany’s seventh largest city for the biennial staging of wire. Running alongside Tube 2020, the Messe Düsseldorf Fairgrounds will host the most important and influential week-long exhibition in the wire and cable calendar. This year there is added spice with the new Hall 1 and South entrance at the exhibition centre being used for the first time for the staging of wire, following its initial opening in September last year. At 158m long and 77m wide, the new Hall 1 – without any supporting pillars – provides some 12,000m 2 of floor space, allowing space for 10,000 people. wire 2020 preview

Visitors will enter through seven gates, and a 2,000m 2 foyer, which is 16.5m high. Additionally, there is a 7,800m 2 oversized canopy which will serve as a landmark for the new entrance. There is also a glass bridge at first-floor level, linking Hall 1 with the South entrance. Also new for this year is the focus on fasteners. Organiser Messe Düsseldorf is catering for the entire supply chain of this sector, right up to the finished products. Fasteners and springs, the technology behind the sector, raw materials and products will be on display, appealing to distributors, suppliers, buyers or experts from the automotive industry; electrical and electronic equipment; energy and power generation; heating, ventilation, air conditioning, sanitary; civil engineering; communications technology; lightweight and heavy machinery construction; aerospace; metal goods; the furniture industry; and shipbuilding.
