Tata selects Radyne IT spring wire processing line

INDUCTOTHERM Heating & Welding (IHW) has announced the successful factory acceptance of a new Radyne induction tempered spring wire processing line at Tata Steel’s Tarapur plant in India. This line is designed to harden and temper spring wire with a diameter range of 7-14mm at a continuous production rate, across all sizes, of 2,000 kg per hour. IHW’s Radyne UK division worked closely with the Tata Steel team, resulting in a bespoke line configuration tailored specifically to Tata’s requirements. Radyne UK is supplying a new full turnkey spring wire processing line with full project management and technical engineering support. The line will be fully commissioned for production in 2020. Radyne UK equipment is used in a variety of applications, most recently in

the automotive industry to process spring wire used primarily for cold coiling of automotive suspension springs.
