India’s first Polycab Experience Centre opens

WIRE and cable company Polycab India Ltd has opened its first Polycab Experience Centre in India, in Lohar Chawl, Mumbai’s largest wholesale market for electrical goods. Inder T Jaisinghani, the chairman and managing director of Polycab India, inaugurated the centre in the presence of the company’s directors, senior management team members, several prominent business associates and trade fraternity constituents. Polycab has more than 3,400 authorised dealers and distributors and 115,000 retail outlets, with 1,700+ dealers and distributors across India exclusively for fast moving electrical goods (FMEG). The Polycab Experience Centre showcases the entire range in categories such as wires, cables and flame-retardant products. FMEGs include fans, switches, pumps, geysers, lighting, solar and conduit pipes. In wires and cables, Polycab has a wide range of power cables, control cables, instrumentation, building wires and industrial cables. The Polycab Experience Centre showcases its plans to strengthen its FMEG product portfolio, with entry into new product segments by way of continuous product development and innovation. The company also intends to focus on street lighting and other specialised products, such as domestic and agriculture pumps. PWM, a designer and manufacturer of high-performance cold welding equipment and dies, exhibited its range of manual cold welding machines at wire Southeast Asia. “As usual, Bangkok provided a good opportunity to demonstrate the advantages of cold welding and the time and cost-saving benefits of using our proven technology,” said Steve Mepsted, managing director of PWM. “We didn’t experience any really busy periods on the booth but had a steady stream of visitors throughout the show. Our best-selling M101 manual machine attracted the most interest, as usual, but visitors were also keen to try out our smaller handheld welders for fine wire.
