values to ensure the quality of cables during production while saving material. At wire China, Sikora will present the third generation of the measuring system X-Ray 8000 Advanced, which measures the wall thickness, eccentricity and diameter of cables in CV lines immediately after the injection head, to provide values for centring and control without distortion. The X-Ray 8700 NXT measures the final product dimensions at the end of the CV line, both horizontally and vertically aligned. By using Sikora measuring systems at both the beginning and the end of production, shrinkage values are determined for all three insulation layers of the cable, ensuring optimum process control. Particularly in the manufacture of high voltage and submarine cables, it is essential that contamination, which can occur during production, does not get into the insulation of power cables. The Purity Scanner Advanced uses X-ray technology and optical cameras to detect contaminants such as metal from a size of 50µm in the pellets, and automatically sorts out impurities.

By means of a combined inductive and optical measuring method, the diameter and ovality of cables are measured in addition to the eccentricity. With 5,000 high-precision measurement values per second per measurement axis, and a short exposure time of less than 1/1,000,000 second, the Centerview Pro enables accurate measurements, even at high line speeds and with product vibrations. Also being premiered at wire China, the Laser Pro for cable diameter measurement is based on the established Laser series, in use in numerous extrusion lines worldwide. Three models of Laser Pro cover a product dimension range of 0.1 to 51mm. The diffraction analysis in combination with pulse-controlled laser diodes produces 500,000 measuring points per second per measuring axis across the entire measuring field. These are summarised in 5,000 measured values per second per measuring axis, ensuring that the values supplied are both accurate and repeatable.

The SETIC team is committed to meeting the specific needs of each customer. Visitors to the stand at wire China will be able to talk to representatives about tailored cable machinery solutions, and discover the latest advancements in high-performance cable machinery and sustainable solutions. “We are pleased to announce the reopening of Gauder Group’s China operations, including a sales office in Shanghai,” said a spokesperson. “Our newly established structure Gauder Group Shanghai manufactures SETIC made in China machines. “These machines reply to the dynamic and critical Chinese and Asian markets, offering modern design, European quality, and performance standards. We fully assume local services in China to ensure competitive levels of support.” SETIC SAS www.setic-pourtier.com Sikora, a manufacturer of measuring, control and sorting technologies, will present its range of new and established systems for quality control and cost optimisation in wire and cable extrusion and material production and processing. The new Centerview Pro will be premiered at the event. The Centerview 10 and Centerview 25 models for product dimensions from 0.1 to 25mm continue Sikora’s 50-year tradition of measuring the eccentricity of conductors in cable insulation. The new Centerview Pro measures the eccentricity and diameter of cables

The short exposure time of less than 1/1,000,000 second allows the individual measured values to be recorded with maximum image sharpness, providing measuring accuracy even at high line speeds and with product vibrations. The third new product being introduced at wire China is the LM Smart, for non contact length measurement of wires and cables. Compared to conventional contact-based solutions, there is no slippage or wear. Once the device has been set up, no calibration or re parameterisation are required. In the field of power cable production, the X-Ray 8000 provides measurement
