This session will feature cable manufacturers such as Superior Essex, Prysmian and Hengtong Optic-Electric Co, as well as materials suppliers such as The Chemours Company. Presenters will discuss how recycled materials in cable and connectivity products can contribute to the important balance of safety, performance and sustainability. The selection of materials, new product designs and the system network infrastructure that products provide will help the global industry meet critical sustainability goals. Energy Transition Breakout Program (NEW) IWCS will host an inaugural “Breakout Program” that fosters discussion on broad trends critical to global connectivity. Taking place on Wednesday, “Navigating the Energy Transition: Smart Grid and Broadband Connectivity” will focus on the intersection of data, communication, control and power cables as applied to the grid of the future. IWCS 2024 Forum highlights at a glance Technical Symposium – Monday 14 to Thursday 17 October The symposium allows attendees to experience more than 85 previously unpublished technical papers featuring research and development for cabling and connector/interconnect technologies, designs, components, materials, fabrication, performance, testing and applications. Plenary Luncheon with Keynote – Monday 14 October Taking place during lunch on Monday, a prominent industry leader (to be announced) will conduct the keynote presenta tion. Also during the Plenary Luncheon, IWCS will recognise the best papers and presenters from last year’s event. Welcome Reception – Monday 14 October A networking reception on Monday evening immediately following the first three Technical Symposium sessions. Attendees are invited to enjoy drinks, entertainment and light hors d’oeuvres while networking with colleagues from around the world. IWCS is offering the annual core Professional Development Courses of Copper 101, Fiber 101, Materials 101 and Extrusion 101, as well as special elective courses focused on more advanced details about fluropolymer materials for cables, optical fibre applications and optical fibre coatings. Instructed by renowned industry experts, these courses provide introductory topical information and are geared towards engineers, scientists and other professionals who are new to The Executive Session is designed for the general management of cable and connectivity industry supply chain companies. Important issues and economic trends facing the industry will be addressed by expert speakers. Supplier Exhibition™ – Tuesday 15 and Wednesday 16 October The IWCS Supplier Exhibition allows more than 70 exhibitors to display products and to network with attendees from around the world.
