Bangkok, Thailand

The company will showcase the latest manufacturing solutions for medium- and high-voltage power cables, enabling customers to take the next step towards more energy-efficient cable production. Both brands – Rosendahl and Nextrom – have recently introduced features to open new possibilities for manufacturers of fibre optical cables. A high-speed fibre launching system makes continuous PP dry tube production easy, while an entirely redesigned fibre cutter saves time and material waste. A new die system for jelly filling enhances process stability, and a dual-clenching system increases production speed by up to 25 per cent. For the production of metal data cables, Rosendahl Nextrom has developed an AI-based process control that delivers results in the foaming process, making tighter tolerances and improved electrical properties possible. This algorithm also reduces start-up scrap. With these advances, Rosendahl Nextrom states that its solutions provide the best preconditions for high-performance data cables, such as Cat 8, and special cables for use in medical, aerospace and other special applications. For the processing of high-temperature materials, the company also offers precise but robust extruders and crossheads, as well as customised processes. In the automotive sector, Rosendahl has launched a turnkey extrusion line for hairpins, with a fast and efficient process.

Pan Chemicals has recently added to its portfolio new products such as ash less lubricants for high quality surface after annealing; polymer-based pre coating for cold forming applications; polymer pre-coat lubricants for heavy duty bar drawing; nanotechnology based protective coating for galvanised wires; and pre-coating for high-tensile galvanised steel wire drawing. It has also introduced special nano dispersion water-based lubricants for fine and extra-fine drawing of high tensile wires; new concept drawing technologies based on special diamond dies; and a new design of high-performance compact pressure dies.

Rautomead will show its RS 3000S continuous casting machine

for even lower oxygen content copper rod, such as for use in the manufacture of high-efficiency bar-wound electric motors. The graphite crucible, electric resistance furnace design of the RS 3000S, com bined with high-efficiency tooling and precisely controlled production tech niques, improves the oxygen reduction capability of the graphite technology sys tem to produce ultra-low oxygen content copper rod. Rautomead will also be promoting RSL sealed-lid continuous casting technol ogy, designed for processing progressive alloy rods such as copper chrome zirco nium for use in subsequent manufacture of welding tips and drawn wires; and RS continuous casting machines for produc ing high-purity conductor alloy rods such as CuMg, CuAg and CuSn, for use in the subsequent manufacture of railway wires, shaped conductors and contact wires. Equipment is available for the produc tion of 1,000 to 12,000 mt per year for products from 8 to 30mm in diameter. Sample coils for evaluation and test pro cessing can be manufactured to order and produced on continuous casting equipment installed at Rautomead’s facility in Dundee, UK.
