Higher performance for high-performance LAN cables In promoting its new technology, Rosendahl Nextrom has described a worst-case scenario: a minor flaw occurring at the very beginning of physical foaming during Cat 8.1 cable production; only the finished cable cable can be tested, so a whole day of production goes to waste, and the manufacturer will not know where the mistake happened or how to prevent it. Rosendahl Nextrom has been working on improving physical foaming to meet the challenging requirements for Cat 8.1 and Cat 8.2 cables. The company has developed a system that controls the most critical part of the process. throughout the whole production, which results in repeatability by reaching a constant and evenly spread foam. Combining the RMFC with Rosendahl’s Gas Injector Valve (RGIV) further accelerates the process. The self-locking system can be left in the extruder, so solid and foam recipes can be produced without dismantling the equipment.

Both systems are available for upgrade of existing Rosendahl equipment with easy plug-and-play integration for RIO, Rosendahl’s line control, in an independent box with all of the necessary connections – no extra calibration is needed. The stand-alone version has its own control terminal and a PLC. Combined with the bypass valve, the scrap rate can be reduced. Establishing the right conditions ahead of production can reduce start-up and changeover times.

The Rosendahl Mass Flow Control unit (RMFC) is switched between the high-pressure pump and the extruder. It automatically regulates the gas flow and constantly adjusts it

Automatic machine for longitudinal and transversal strapping

Saizar manufactures strapping and packaging solutions for the steel industry, taking into consideration the client’s specifications and technical requirements to adjust the machine. In addition to automatic strapping machines, Saizar can offer packaging solutions such as compactors, wrapping solutions, cardboard protector systems and wooden runners. One of the company’s most recent automatic solutions was designed for the strapping of nickel packages that are placed in a strapping table. The nickel package is located in the strapping station, centred and turned 90° for longitudinal strapping; the machines can displace laterally to each strapping position, depending on how many strappings need to be performed on each package. Having performed the longitudinal strapping, the nickel package turns 90°, ready for the transversal strapping. The machines also have an integrated system where wooden runners are introduced automatically alongwith each transversal strapping. Once the machine is placed correctly in the strapping position and the wooden runner is introduced, each machine performs the strapping with steel strap of 32mm, in accordance with the client’s requirements. Finally, when all the strapping has been performed, the client is responsible for evacuating the package from the strapping position. However, Saizar could also add other elements such as an evacuation system or turning system. Saizar www.saizarsl.com
