Take-up and payoff combined in one machine

One of the main advantages is the handling of the package as undriven payoff, resulting in twist-free and straight wire. This also leads to quicker changing and set-up times. The machine is an energy saver, as it avoids the need to run separate take-up and payoff. The No Twist Coiler enables unlimited speed in the wire take-up. The versatile NTC 1200 is suitable for all applications for wire diameters from 0.3 to 14mm. Lämneå Bruk is in full control of its production chain, from initial idea to finished product, so each machine can be customised to individual manufacturing requirements. The company says that its trapezoidal wire (TW) dies are designed to ensure accurate quality parameters, to obtain aluminium strands that are shaped to provide a smooth outer surface that can meet applicable ASTM standards. For smaller-diameter conductors, Ajex & Turner’s trapezoidal-shape dies can be enlarged to provide a greater cross- sectional area of aluminium. The company also produces sector dies of any size and design. Ajex & Turner’s shape dies for any type of metal are manufactured using PCD/ carbide/Nano. The sector shape, TW and

Swedish wire machinery manufacturer Lämneå Bruk offers a broad and customisable portfolio of payoffs and take-ups to maximise plant efficiency for an international customer base. One of the company’s latest innovations is the No-Twist Coiler (NTC) 1200, which combines take-up and payoff in a single machine. The machine can be used off-line or, more effectively, in-line with the drawing machine. The NTC 1200 acts as take-up for the drawing machine, while the inverted carrier is used as payoff in the next production step and placed directly onto the floor. Z-shape dies are used for compacting, bunching and stranding lines. This kind of conductor is used in the wire design and cable manufacturing industries, among other areas. The company’s hardened steel sector rollers/compacting rollers are produced as per conductor designs, and include 3, 3.5 and 4mm core sector shape compaction rollers for 25, 35, 50, 70, 95, 120, 150, 185, 240, 300 or 400mm 2 in 60°, 90° and 120° or to the customer’s requirement.
