THE Niehoff Package System (NPS) is an efficient and safe handling system for automotive wires, and consists of SV type spoolers and collapsible NPS plastic multi-way spools. The spoolers are designed to operate in line with extrusion lines, to spool the insulated wire coming from the line with a particular conical wire-laying technology onto the NPS spools. The spools offer a secure, stable and tangle-free package, both when full and partially empty, and enable high cable payoff speeds into downstream processes. Even signal cables made of copper alloys with a cross-section of 0.13mm 2 can be processed without problems.

Empty NPS spools can be fully dismantled and nested into each other. Dismantled spools take up only a third of the space of comparable conventional spools and so require less return shipping space. Upon return to the cable manufacturer, NPS spools can be easily and quickly reassembled and re-used for dozens of cycles. Nine types of NPS spool are offered, covering the size range 600/400 to 400/100, with the first figure indicating the flange diameter in mm and the second one showing the traverse height in mm.
