➣➢➣ The control concept is based on the latest technology. Among other things, servo technology is used for the drive concept to ensure a good winding process. In addition, by using a recipe database and a spool protocolling, the control system offers user-friendliness. The double take-up is available in different versions up to an outer diameter of 600mm, with a maximum spool weight of 150kg and a production speed to 300m/min. Additional options on the double take-up are also available, and the finished product can be wrapped with a stretch film by using a foot switch. The double take-up can also be equipped with a feed and cutting unit. The cutting unit is pneumatically driven by a cylinder and has a special steel knife. After the cut, the electrically driven feed unit feeds the product quickly and safely. Kurre Spezialmaschinenbau – Germany Website : www.kurre.net Lämneå Bruk is known for its drawing machine lines but also offers a broad range of (de-)spooling, rod preparation, coilers, take-ups, payoffs and pointing machines for different wire types, such as low to high carbon, stainless steel, welding and spring wire. Being in the wire industry for more than 100 years equips the Swedish company with specialised industry knowledge, as well as finding innovative solutions for the changing demands of its inter- national customers. ❍ Broad range of machines and expertise from Lämneå Bruk Lämneå Bruk Stand: F17

All machines are designed and manufactured on-site allowing for highest flexibility and options to adapt each machine according to customers’ needs. Lämneå takes pride in its customer service and support during every phase of the production cycle, as well as after-sales. A thorough three-step risk analysis and conformity to ISO standards ensures European safety standards of all machines. The company strives to improve its machines and sets new standards in the wire industry. It has recently launched an innovative machine that it claims will revolutionise the wire drawing process: the No Twist Coiler 1200. This machine can be used in-line and acts as take-up for the drawing machine. The inverted carrier is used as a payoff in the next production step and placed directly onto the floor. One of the major advantages is the handling of the package as undriven payoff, resulting in twist-free and straight wire. The machine is also an energy saver and has lower downtimes due to the continuous production abilities. Lämneå Bruk AB – Sweden Website : www.lamnea.se Leyer & Kiwus will exhibit in Thailand for the first time with its laser and ultrasonic drawing die machines. Dr Mirko Cormann, the new R&D manager, will present the LaserAutomat. This fully advanced automatic laser machine is suitable for drilling natural and polycrystalline diamond dies in the diameter range from 0.005 to 3mm. After the laser drilling process the diamond dies’ surfaces are so smooth that the ultrasonic polishing can be minimised. This surface quality is guaranteed due to the perfect matching between the maintenance-free diode-pumped solid-state laser with high beam quality and stability, the automatic loading system and the integrated measuring device. After the ultrasonic shaping and polishing procedures, the surface of wire-drawing dies should be accurate and of high quality. For this reason the company presents the ultrasonic polishing machines Ultra 300 and Leyer & Kiwus Stand: D24

Ultra 400. Both machines are suitable for natural and polycrystalline diamond dies with bore diameters from 0.05 to 15mm. The integrated 500-watt ultrasonic generator reduces the polishing time.

For drawing die inspection, Leyer & Kiwus will show the compact DieDiaMeter, a wire-drawing die measuring system. One measurement takes only three to five seconds, with accuracy better than one micron. With different lenses, it is possible to exactly determine the diameters for the whole range between 0.01 and 7.5mm. ❍ The Ultra 400 ultrasonic polishing machine
