simple, reliable process with easy operation through an advanced control system, resulting a low lifecycle cost with increased casting speed, larger capacities, more rod diameter sizes and better production effectiveness. The majority of delivered Upcast lines are for Cu-OF rod and with the most common cast rod diameter of 8mm. Rods with bigger diameters are used for manufacturing a variety of finished products, eg bus-bars, shaped profiles, trolley wires, electroplating anodes, etc. Upcast Cu-OF rod with its excellent formability is well suited to all electrical applications. There are customers worldwide casting with Upcast technology the Cu OF 8mm rod, which can be further processed to the finest diameters.

Windak Group specialises in automatic packaging solutions for the wire and cable industry and has offices in Sweden, USA, Australia and Estonia. The company will be exhibiting together with Axjo Pacific. Axjo ® is a Windak Group partner that currently delivers spools and drums in polymer materials to over 30 countries worldwide, with production factories in Sweden, Portugal, USA and China. Windak will present the latest information about its new packaging solutions: the QuickPac series of coilers and the MultiPac 360° concept – a collaborative product of the Windak Group and Axjo Plastic AB. Information will also be available about the company’s other products, such as spoolers, coilers, rewind systems, payoffs, take-ups and accumulators. QuickPac series are high speed coiling machines with an exclusive stretch wrap solution. As there is no need for a strapper or binder, this reduces maintenance costs and improves reliability. QuickPac models are designed for maximum output of 9-12 coils/minute. Axjo’s MultiPac spool is divided in the middle and has a slightly conical barrel. This allows each half of the spool to be stacked, and means that up to three times as many spools can be loaded on a trailer. Windak Group – Estonia Website : www.windakgroup.com Wire & Plastic Machinery Corporation will be exhibiting its large inventory of second-hand and reconditioned wire and cable manufacturing equipment. A wide range of equipment is available for producing almost all cable types such as fibre optic, low-voltage cables, data cable, automotive and specialised electrical cables. Categories include barrel packers, binders, bobbin winders, braiders, capstans, cater- pullers, coilers, dancers, extruders (plastic and rubber), extrusion lines, granulators, motors, optical fibre equipment, ovens, payoffs, preheaters, printers, reels, rewinders, rotating equipment, screws, Wire & Plastic Machinery Corp Stand: W1G05
Troester is a worldwide manufacturer of complete extrusion systems for the cable industry, comprising CV lines for XLPE and rubber cables, silicone insulation lines, sheathing and insulation lines, as well as the complete range of downstream equipment, like winders, caterpillars, capstans and accumulators. In China the company is represented by its subsidiary, Troester Machinery Shanghai (TMS), which is responsible for the sales and after-sales service and production for the domestic market. The company will be presenting information and new developments in the field of: • CCV and VCV lines for MV, HV and EHV cables up to 1,000 kV • Rubber CV and CCV lines up to 35 kV • Silicone insulation lines with TRIOX ovens • Production equipment for submarine cables

Other shapes of cast products in addition to rod and SGTube are various profiles and flat bar. The alloys that have been recently successfully cast are CuMg0.5, ZnAl15 and various brass alloys. More alloys are continuously being tested. CuMg has excellent strength and conductivity characteristics, which create several possibilities for its applications. The biggest diameters of CuMg0.5 rod have been processed fulfilling the requirements of the EN 50149 standard. Ø8mm CuMg0.5 cast rod has also been successfully produced and further processed into very thin wires; with Ø8mm, the process into the finished product is shorter. ZnAL alloy is used in the arc and flame spraying process for corrosion protection. The technology for casting ZnAl mix into cast rod is new, with good benefits. Compared to the traditional production method of this alloy, the investment cost is less and another advantage is that rod can be cast into coils of exactly the optimised amounts the customer needs, whereas with the hot press only products with specific lengths can be produced. In the future, the focus of R&D is on the alloys, however, not forgetting the continuous further development of the OF and DHP products, which is expected to result in cost savings and guarantee cost efficiency for the customers. The process is environmentally friendly with no harmful emissions or need for
