Roblon ultra-low shrinkage (ULS) polyester binder yarn is a high grade polyester with a shrinkage level of <0.6% (190ºC/15min) making it suitable for compact cable designs with no margin for material deformation. The ULS binder yarn can be used on Roblon low-tension cross binders that can accurately control tension, even at high speeds. Improved Roblon WB light-flex: In line with market trends to move towards completely dry cable designs, Roblon has improved its water-blocking formula on its PU-coated glass yarn, and the absorption capacity is now doubled compared to the previous version. As is characteristic of all Roblon WB yarns, the new formula WB light-flex has a very smooth surface for easy handling and low dust generation during operation. Roblon US Inc is the new name under which the previous Netpco FOCC product lines are now marketed. By acquiring this part of Netpco’s business, Roblon now has a manufacturing facility operating from Granite Falls, North Carolina, USA. Roblon will introduce its newly developed Roblon low-tension cross binder, as well as displaying its latest developments within technical yarn, such as new and improved formula water-blocking (WB) light-flex glass strength members. Roblon low-tension cross binder is designed for compact optical fibre cables where requirements to both materials and equipment is becoming challenging. The binder presents new features, such as constant and low tension, allowing for higher accuracy and better yarn control during the binding process. The low-tension cross binder comes with a direct tension measuring system that makes it possible to set and document the actual yarn tension throughout the entire process. Furthermore, the benefits from the standard Roblon cross binder, such as single point of binding for better fixation and storage of multiple spools, are also part of the design.
