Economic energy supply for IT cabinets

A star topology power supply to IT cabinets, using a number of individual cables, can be untidy and difficult to modify. In addition, the cables are usually heaped and tend to get hot, adversely affecting their carrying capacity and causing them to age more quickly. The Ecobus flat-cable safety system, on the other hand, can be used to create a very neat, flexible, long-term infrastructure for standard power supply as well as UPS. The system can be attached to the cable conduit systems above the racks using cable clamps. Depending on the energy supply required, Dätwyler offers cables with diameters from 2.5mm 2 to 16mm². The energy can be supplied to or tapped from the flat cable at any point by the means of special adapters, without the cable being interrupted.

Connections can be realised via screw or plug type, and wiring can take place even while the cable is live. The fuses are no longer positioned on the sub-distributors but directly at the end-user terminals. By using the Ecobus flat-cable system, power cables can be successively set up without interrupting the computer centre’s operations. They can also be easily rearranged or extended. Dätwyler Cables provides halogen-free Pyrofil safety cables for supplying the flat-cable safety systems. For cabinet-monitoring systems, the Ecobus flat-cable systems can also be supplied with an integrated or separate flat-cable data bus.
