Mixer SpA Stand: H43
Mixer SpA is an Italian company with more than 25 years of expertise in wire and cable compounds, committed to meeting customer needs through extensive support and collaborative strategy development. By offering compounds in pellet form instead of strips, Mixer delivers benefits to customers such as optimised transportation and storage, along with consistency and homogeneity. Among the products supplied for various applications in the cable market, Mixer’s portfolio, known as EKOPREN®, includes a wide range of rubber-based solutions that ensure quality standards throughout the manufacturing process, from raw material selection to final product testing. For medium voltage insulation, Mixer has developed a specialised production line that focuses on cleanliness and attention to detail. The EKOPREN medium voltage insulation range includes grades for applications up to 95kV, based on full EPR, EPDM and EPDM-PE blends, comprising solutions with and without lead. The lead-free grades have been specifically developed to minimise environmental impact, keeping insulating performance in compliance with the lead-free directive necessary to access the European market (RoHS regulation). All of these compounds are fully compliant with the international standards for 90°C and 105°C operating temperatures, and can be employed both for static and dynamic applications,

In the area of multi-core applications, new grades such as EKOPREN 3IS01A and 3IS691, together their lead-free counterparts, ensure low deformation in processes that involve a second step of peroxide-induced crosslinking for the sheathing extrusion. These grades are capable of maintaining constant diameter for each insulation core against the high pressure generated by the outer sheath, ensuring flexibility and avoiding partial discharges or breakdown issues. EKOPREN 3IS041 is a new grade for wind turbine applications. The diverse range of products in the medium voltage compounds field includes environmentally friendly lead free solutions and fully rubber-based blends suitable for multi-core cables. Mixer will be present at wire India along with its local partner, Lifeline. Mixer SpA www.mixercompounds.com
even in extremely cold environments down to -40°C. Taking advantage of the elastic behaviour of the fully rubber based compounds, solutions suitable for multi-core cables have gained momentum for voltages up to 69kV. Mixer has expanded its range with increased flexibility grades that avoid scorch issues especially at high extrusion speed: EKOPREN 3IS73F and 3IS75F (for applications up to 35kV) and EKOPREN 3IS74F (up to 69kV). With increasing interest in rubber cables suitable for applications up to 95kV, a new grade named EKOPREN® 3IS721 is the result of investigation and study of the raw materials able to provide high quality in terms of insulation behaviour and electrical proprieties. Typical electrical tests are volume resistivity, dielectric strength and loss factor. Mixer has included solutions with improved water resistance, known as W versions, to better meet customer needs.
