New machine to increase capacity A growing order book in a bid to support its customers across 65 countries has seen Alloy Wire International (AWI) take delivery of a new wet drawing machine that will allow the company to significantly increase capacity. As part of a larger £500,000 investment plan at the UK company, the new machine will fit seamlessly into the new production set-up to help reduce lead times. With two sites in the UK, AWI was purchased by three directors in January this year, and there has since been a significant growth in sales, with orders up nearly 40 per cent. This will also lead to investment in Pneuform, with Alan Pickering, Unison’s joint managing director, stating: “To ensure that Pneuform is able to further develop its position as a leader in wire and small tube bending machines, we have a number of new machine tool technologies in the pipeline.” See page 14 for full details.

Cabopol Polymer Compounds is expanding its global presence with the opening of a new production site in Monterrey, Mexico.
