Crosshead for foamed RF cable

Crosshead RX 25T covers the entire RF cable range m m

Superior manifold technology enables small formed cells and an homo- genous cell distribution at this high foaming degree. Temperature control, shear stress, pressure drop and flow speed optimisation in the crosshead are significant factors for achieving foam expansion rates on the final cable of up to 86%. This new design is said to enable RF cable manufacturers to surpass the limitations curr- ently experienced with standard equipment. The Rosendahl Crosshead RX 25T for foamed RF cable cores is designed to manufacture the complete RF cable range from ¼" SF to 2¼" F. The basic design comprises an oil heated crosshead with skin appli- cation, equipped with an optimised temperature control to cover expansion rates of up to 86%. Two heating/cooling zones on the crosshead – one for the main body, the second for the die holder – provide excellent temperature control and even temperature distribution in the polymer gas melt. Full natural balancing minimises the shear rates and provides smooth melt flow for perfect roundness, concentricity and mechanical stability.

CableBuilder moves further afield

In July 2010 InnoVites BV announced that Vatan Kablo had selected the InnoVites for Cable © and CableBuilder © business solutions for the wire and cable industry. InnoVites and its Turkish partner PargeSoft are the implementation partners for Vatan Kablo. This industry-specific solution integrates business processes from cable design to production, planning and delivery. CableBuilder is a popular and powerful cable design software from Cimteq Ltd, the industry partner of InnoVites. Both applications are specifically designed for the wire and cable industry and deliver strong functionality to support specific business processes in the industry. More recently, InnoVites was able to confirm that CableBuilder is also to be implemented by Gupta Power Infrastructure Limited (GPIL) of India, to improve the company’s product data management. GPIL, a US$170 million company, is an established name in the manufacturing of conductors and cables in India. MK Gupta, managing director of Gupta Power Infrastructure, explained: “The investment in CableBuilder is part of our strategy to further enhance the R&D infrastructure in GPIL. It makes the company more responsive and effective when it comes to matching customer requirements with technological innovations.”
