Metalube invests in further laboratory equipment As part of an ongoing investment programme into research, innovation and new product development, lubricant manufacturer Metalube has purchased a new LR-2.ST laboratory system. The quality control department has also capitalised on a new automated viscosity and density meter, which speeds up and improves accuracy of viscosity testing.

❍ LR-2.ST laboratory reactor system

The LR-2.ST is a modular laboratory reactor for simulation and optimisation of chemical reactions as well as homogenising processes on a laboratory scale. It offers torque control, heat control and homogenisation, allowing the company to optimise production efficiency and aiding scalability.

❍ Viscosity meter

Technical director Chris Nettleship said, “Both these investments allow us to be more efficient and offer higher standards of customer service. This LR-2.ST laboratory reactor has given us the potential to develop new and innovative greases and lubricants and catapulted our research and development capabilities to the next level.
