Friction causes damage and increases electrical resistance. Nano-Dies have lower surface friction than PCD or tungsten carbide dies, so do less damage to the micro-structure of the individual conductor. Smooth dies facilitate the use of less material for the same electrical resistance specification. Applications and materials for Nano-Dies include compacting and stranding, wire and tube drawing, and rod breakdown for aluminium and alloys, copper, brass, low carbon and stainless steel. They have also shown good results in trials using higher carbon steel drawing. Nano-Dies are available in compacting sizes from 0.7 to 120mm. The company also offers PCD dies and service. Its PCD range includes the latest advances in low-tolerance (ultra) fine wire diameter precision PCD from 12 microns in size upwards. Customers are advised to use both PCD and/or Nano Dies wherever they are best suited, and to understand and take advantage of the differences and benefits of each type of die. Nano-Diamond America, Inc Nano-Dies Pty Ltd www.nano-die.com.au 11 D68 NDC Technologies, a provider of connected measurement and process control solutions, will be introducing several new products at wire 2022. Visitors to the NDC Technologies (Beta LaserMike Products) stand will see first hand how precise, reliable measurements along the critical points in the cable ex trusion process can help manufacturers improve product quality, increase pro ductivity and realise production savings. Product introductions will include the new LayScan Pro lay length cable measurement system. NDC Technologies Inc
Mixer has a technical customer support team to maximise the synergy between EKOPREN compounds and customers’ equipment. This results in collaboration with on-site activities, know-how sharing, and fine tuning of the compounds to allow clients to produce cables at higher speed, reducing scrap and meeting high specifications. The company recently built a new logistics area, with more than 2,500m 2 dedicated to the storage of materials and products. The structure was built with an ecological approach and is designed to optimise the logistics services and the internal supply chain. The new area completes the logistic system, together with the warehouse built in 2019, and internal traffic has been streamlined to allow more efficient truck circulation.
Machine equipped with a TR-02 shaving head
Mouton Rivom manufactures shaving heads for various ferrous and non ferrous wire and cable manufacturers. Depending on the material, the shaving heads are efficient on wires from ø1 to 18mm. The shaving process improves the surface finish, removes impurities and corrosion, and is environmentally friendly as it prevents the use of chemicals and makes it possible to recycle the chips generated. All of the company’s machines comply with the requirements of EU Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC, and are exported worldwide. Mouton Rivom www.moutonrivom.com Nano-Diamond America, Inc TBC Nano-Diamond America has relocated to Sydney, Australia, where it is now Nano Dies PL. The company still exclusively supplies the Nano-Die® product. Some of its distributors will be exhibiting at wire 2022. The Nano-Dies product was developed by the company, and it owns the trademark. The company uses experience and feedback from customers to build and complement its technical products, applications, and drawing and compacting process appreciation. Nano-Dies are suitable for those seeking to reduce material waste, as they retain their original size and tolerance for the life of the die. The company claims that the dies provide the best possible surface finish and/or lower electrical resistance for a given cable size.
Mixer produces rubber compounds exclusively for the cable industry
Mixer has also created a business unit based in Columbus, Ohio, USA, named XO Trade. The new subsidiary is focused on the US market, with particular reference to the automotive sector and medium voltage insulation, being strategic for this market segment. Mixer SpA www.mixercompounds.com Mouton Rivom SAS 10 G55 Serving the metal forming, wire and cable industries worldwide for more than 60 years, Mouton Rivom manufactures tools in tungsten carbide, and grinding, polishing and wire shaving machines, as well as conveyor belts. The company’s automatic internal grinding machines are equipped with ø100, ø125 or ø160 chucks, depending on the version, and are dedicated to the machining of tungsten carbide dies and tools starting from ø0.8mm. The manual polishing lathes are designed for the polishing of various types of tools and materials. They feature safety devices, electronic speed variators and brakes. Depending on the model, various options are available, such as chucks from ø80 to ø250, collet chucks, magnetic plates and workbenches.
