Unpowered transportation carousels Qunye has provided multiple unpow ered transportation carousels to subsea cable companies. Transportation car ousels are increasingly used in subsea deployment and the retrieval of flying leads from the installation vessel deck. 3D modelling, and ANSYS software is used to establish a finite element model for stress analysis under typical load conditions, and structural optimisation design. Through the theoretical calculation of the subsea cable laying turntable, a compact, reliable and stable mechanical system is provided. New fibre optic line Maillefer has expanded its fibre optic portfolio for indoor cables, with a new line. The OEL 42 – FO line configuration can produce all types, including tight buffers, simplex/duplex, drop cables and distribution cables. The high-speed fibre payoffs handle bare fibres, tight buffers and even reinforced elements such as FRPs and aramid yarns. The extruder’s high output provides homogeneous and linear flow Qunye uses SolidWorks for Guill Tool has introduced Series 725, a co-extrusion crosshead design for tray cable applications. With an all stainless steel construction, Series 725 offers machine builders and end users advantages including the patented Guill Seal Right system of self-aligning tapered deflector and body design. Series 725 was developed by Guill engi neering, in partnership with a customer, to convert a production line from a tandem line with two heads a distance apart into a co-extrusion line with a sin gle head applying both layers of PVC in a single operation. Other end-user benefits of the new co extrusion crosshead include a shorter changeover time; less scrap owing to the single head set-up; improved prod uct quality from the increased adhesion between layers, as melt adheres to melt

with all plastic materials used in fibre optic cable production. The new TM1250 take-up operates with a wide range of reels and cables while staying within a small footprint. All com ponents can be integrated with existing machinery to turn any loose tube line into a flexible multipurpose line. Maillefer Extrusion Oy www.maillefer.net

rather than extrudate; and the inner layer is not exposed to the environment, which prevents contaminants between the layers. Additional features of the new crosshead include multi-port spiral flow, easy disassembly and restart, positive seals for leak elimination, the patented Guill Feather Touch concentricity adjustment, a vacuum port and the ability to accept two extruders from the same side via the heated manifold assembly. The maximum through-core is 1.75" and maximum die ID is 2". The first layer is fixed and the second is adjustable, and the crosshead can be adapted to all extruder brands. Series 725 is supplied with a tool kit and detailed operator’s instruction manual. Guill Tool & Engineering www.guill.com
