Exhibitors at wire 2024

For extrusion processes, Cersa-MCI offers the LPS-3-H to monitor diameter and detect lumps and neckdowns in a single product, for larger wire and cable diameters (0.3 to 5mm). This solution combines a diameter gauge and a flaw detector in one box. At wire 2024, Cersa-MCI will present its new measuring instruments, specifically its range of surface analysis equipment. Focusing on high-speed line measurement, the SQM-F (new patented technology) captures surface defects and displays their shape on screen. The SQM-F can be used on-line, and now also off-line using the Wire360 manual bench from Cersa. Visitors will have the opportunity to see this in action on several sample wires. Now available for round products from 15µm to 2,000µm, it provides a complementary solution to improve quality control. Cersa-MCI will also be presenting its all-in-one solution for the wire and cable sector. Cersa-MCI www.cersa-mci.com 10 B48 In the metalworking sector, cold formed screws and bolts are used in a wide range of applications. In the automotive sector, for example, they are used by manufacturers in vehicle parts, motors, steering, suspension and other demanding applications. The classic production cycle for these components requires a preliminary conversion coating (based upon zinc phosphate) in order to create a layer that is able to absorb the lubricant (in most cases the lubrication is provided by soaps). This production cycle is complex and has high costs for the final user. A traditional layout would be: pickling (chemical or mechanical), followed by activation, phosphating and rinsing, then neutralisation. The phases of activation, phosphating and rinsing involve high energy consumption (phosphating requires high bath temperatures) and production of waste – the activation bath needs to be drained frequently, rinsing water is discharged often, and the phosphating bath produces a large amount of sludge. Sludge removal, bath make up and maintenance also have high labour costs. This process is critical for the final result, as a small variation of the operational parameters can cause the formation Condoroil Chemical Srl

latest innovations for electric vehicle (EV) charging applications. Recognising the demand for robust, high-performance materials, Cabopol has introduced compounds that address the diverse requirements of EV charging cables. For wire and cable applications, the company has created TPE, TPU and TPX compounds, engineered for flexibility, aesthetic appearance and to meet international standards including EN 50620, IEC 62893-1, TÜV 2PfG1908, UL 62 and GB-T 33594.

BWE continues to develop new products and applications, including wire arc additive manufacturing (WAAM), 3D printing, electric vehicles and precious metals. Proving trials and demonstrations are available at BWE’s headquarters in Ashford, Kent, UK. The company’s research and development department will consider and prove any new application prior to investment. BWE also manufactures and supplies a complete range of cold welders and dies for a fast and reliable solution to welding non-ferrous materials from fine wire to round rod. A range of machines will be on display and available for demonstration. BWE Ltd www.bwe.co.uk C2S Customer Services 10 F59 The C2S Customer Services department acts as a partner to maintain machine productivity and enhance product quality, whatever the brand of equipment. C2S provides spare parts, upgrades and maintenance projects, as well as transfer and restart operations of complete lines. Upgrades are a sustainable approach: by extending the life of existing machines, customers reduce their environmental impact by minimising the need for new equipment. C2S states that its solutions are a way to save energy and “go green”. The company is involved in smart factories and Industry 4.0 processes. C2S will exhibit on one side of the SETIC stand. Cabopol has developed solutions for EV charging

These compounds ensure mechanical properties, flexibility even at low temperatures (-40°C) and abrasion resistance, for performance in day-to day cable usage. All solutions are flame retardant, meeting the low conductivity criteria of European standards. The solutions cover all standards and requirements for both insulation and jacket, offering various flexibilities and surface aesthetic aspects. Cabopol Polymer Compounds www.cabopol.com 10 C31 Established in France in 1981, Cersa-MCI designs and manufactures measuring devices for fine wires, cables and optical fibres. It offers a portfolio of solutions to help customers enhance production quality. Advanced technologies such as interferometers and diffraction ensure high-speed measurements and accuracy. The company’s sensors can be used on- or off-line for non-contact measurement applications. In the mid-1980s, Cersa-MCI launched its first device for fine wire measurement. The LDS is still available today with one or two axes for diameter monitoring during the drawing process or for off-line measurements, fitted with accessories, for wires from 5 µm to 2mm. Cersa-MCI
