Laser drilling expertise Nota Zakład Mechaniki Precyzyjnej, Poland, is a producer of high quality wire drawing dies made from either natural diamond, PCD or synthetic diamond (Monodie 111). A modern laser drilling machine type YAG with full PC control has been installed at the company’s second factory, which enables precise processing of elements made from super hard materials. A modern system of steering, together with the unique system of setting up the shaped material, achieves a full geometry of the wire drawing die with the high precision of up to 0.01°. It has been a real case of a father and son team after being founded in 1968 by Harish Jindal, a mechanical engineer. His son, Asim, also joined the company in 1995. If the wire or rod dimensions deviate from nominal values, the drawing die might need modification. A quality control system that can measure corresponding parameters for both product and tool is needed to specify the correct drawing die parameters.
