Offering synergies for the attendees, the three events presented comprehensive solutions for the requirements of this growing regional market, showcasing the latest innovations in foundry, metalworking and thermal process engineering. The United Arab Emirates and the Middle East are highly attractive markets for companies and investors alike. Due to infrastructure improvement projects in the Gulf region, demand for metal products is steadily increasing. These include the expansion of the metro networks, multibillion-dollar road construction projects, upgrading of bridges as well as capacity expansions of harbours and airports. Set against the background of EXPO 2020 in Dubai, projects in local transport and air traffic are of special importance. Overall, the Gulf States are investing $330 billion in the development of regional airports. All these projects in addition to a booming gas and oil industry are resulting in a large increase

MORE than 3,500 visitors attended the first staging of Metal Middle East, International Trade Fair for Metallurgical Technology, Thermo Process Tech- nology, Foundry Machinery and Metal Working Tools, which took place at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Center. Held concurrently with the fifth Tube Arabia and the second Arabia Essen Welding and Cutting trade fairs, the three events attracted 176 exhibitors from 21 countries. The three trade shows are a joint project of Messe Düsseldorf, Messe Essen and Al Fajer Information and Services. Messe Düsseldorf is renowned as the organiser of the leading international trade fairs staged each year across the world. Together, Metal Middle East, Tube Arabia and Arab Essen Welding and Cutting provided an international contact and business platform for the Middle East and the United Arab Emirates markets.
