Pay-offs, take-ups & winding systems

More than 30 years’ experience

Roblon’s reversible rewinder

Meccanica Nicoletti has been manufacturing cable handling equipment and vertical drum storage racks for more than 30 years. The traditional production method includes rewinding machines with single or multiple functions to meet the different cable handling demands, such as measuring and cutting.

The RW800-680 rewinder from Roblon, Denmark, is designed for the rewinding of a wide range of round, oval or square products. The rewinder line consists of a pay-off, a dancer and a take-up. The rewinding can be performed in connection with a large number of tests of the cable or for a rewind to customers’ reels, where a specific length must be rewound. A range of test and measurement equipment can be connected to the line, including length measuring, diameter control, lump detection, spark test or shortening. Printing on the cable and label printing can also be carried out. The full reel is mounted on the pay- off and the line is threaded through the dancer, instruments, cable lock and traverse unit, towards the reel on the take-up. Before starting the line the product parameters are typed in using the operator panel, and the traverse is electronically controlled between the flanges on the reel. The width of the reel is automatically determined. The line can be reversed if necessary, eg due to an error, to run shorter cables lengths back onto the pay-off.
