TW dies to draw aluminium strands to ASTM standards

The company states that its TW dies are designed to ensure accurate quality parameters, to obtain aluminium strands that are shaped to provide a smooth outer surface that can meet applicable ASTM standards. The dies are made from high- quality raw materials that enable them to be both efficient and long lasting. To resolve the issue of smaller diameter conductors, Ajex & Turner’s trapezoidal- shape dies can be enlarged to provide a greater cross-sectional area of alu- minium and match the diameter of the conventional round conductor.

India’s Ajex & Turner Wire Technologies designs TW dies in PCD, VNT nano or carbide to draw aluminium strands for producing ACSR, ACCC, ACSS and ACFR conductors (trapezoidal wire) to the ASTM standards approved by most power grid corporations around the world.

The company’s forge line from coil and bar can shear to length, chamfer, extrude, forge in two stations, cool and thread roll diameters from 20 to 63mm, and lengths from 200 to 1,000mm.
