Marcegaglia acquires tube company Novero Marcegaglia Group has completed the acquisition of 80 per cent of the capital of Novero SpA, a company that specialises in the production of cold- drawn tubes.

The partnership between Marcegaglia and the Novero family, which will keep Massimo Novero as CEO of the company, is expected to increase production for the group to more than 20,000 tons of cold-drawn tubes per year, compared to the current total of 12,500, with a turnover of more than €40mn. The takeover of Novero SpA, which has a turnover of around €20mn, is part of the strengthening plan at the core business of Marcegaglia Group, a leader in steel processing with more than 5.6 million tons processed each year.
