Pegler Yorkshire has invested in a mobile exhibition vehicle featuring three working test rigs, in order to present the benefits of its new range of Tectite metal push-fit plumbing fittings to a wider audience. Using Thorite’s expertise and compressed air from an oil-free JUN- AIR compressor, the exhibition vehicle is able to demonstrate the strength, integrity and durability of the joints that the pipes, valves and fittings system creates. Thorite, a UK distributor of pneumatic products and process systems, was invited to submit a design for the vehicle’s test rigs and recommended using a JUN-AIR 2xOF302-40B oil-free compressor because its combination of compact design, quiet operation and output of 76 lpm (2.68 cfm) at 8 bar best met the demands of the application. Explaining the operation of the test rigs, Thorite marketing and engineering services director Ross Gowler said, “The JUN- AIR compressor, connected to pneumatic cylinders with control valves, provides compressed air to constantly push and pull the Tectite fittings on two of the test rigs. Additionally, a Thorite-supplied hydraulic power pack with ancillaries generates high pressures of approximately 120 bar on the third rig. To ensure air quality throughout the lifetime of the oil- less compressor range, receivers are internally powder- coated to avoid corrosion.
