Welcome to the latest Tube Products INTERNATIONAL magazine. In this issue we have a feature on fittings, valves, flanges and connectors, and take a look at Stainless Steel World 2017, which is taking place in Maastricht in The Netherlands at the end of November. We also have extended articles from DP Technology and GE Oil & Gas that discuss improving the wheel machining process and recent advances in ultrasonic inspection of seamless tube and pipe. I will be attending the Stainless Steel World 2017 trade show and look forward to visiting this historic city again and speaking to members of the steel industry gathered at this excellent event. Hopefully the mood will be more optimistic than two years ago when a lot of companies reported that business was difficult due to the ongoing global recession and low oil prices. Do come and say hello if you are there. It is not long now until Tube Düsseldorf 2018 and we will be starting to plan this major issue of the magazine soon so please do start thinking about your editorial submissions. I would also advise anyone interested in supporting their editorial with an advertisement to confirm their position in the magazine as soon as possible – early positions in the magazine will soon be filled up. Next issue we have features on valves, fittings, flanges and connectors; mechanical tubing (automotive, aerospace, etc); and tube handling and logistics. The January issue will also have a Tube Düsseldorf Preview so if you would like to give readers and those attending Tube Düsseldorf 2018 an advance look at what you will be exhibiting at the show – and the location of your stand – then please submit your editorial as soon as possible.
