In-pipe hydro systems market estimated to reach $16.13mn by 2025
into four categories: wastewater systems, industrial systems, irrigation systems and residential usage. The wastewater segment was the most attractive in the overall in-pipe hydro systems market in 2016, and is expected to remain most lucrative during the forecast period. The industrial water system segment held the major market share for 2016 and is expected to maintain steady growth for the forecast period. In regional markets, North America holds the key market share, followed by Asia Pacific and Europe. However, market attractiveness is showing a growth trend in the Asia Pacific region for the forecast period. Increased awareness of the environment and green energy generation techniques is the major driver for the in-pipe hydro systems market. infrastructure. The systems are basically micro turbines that are designed to be installed in pipeline networks having natural gravity flow of water with high- pressure heads. In-pipe hydro systems are segmented into internal systems and external systems. A market share of more than 80 per cent is contributed by internal systems (in 2016), and this seems to remain high for the forecast period. These internal systems are installed inside the pipe, and their specification therefore depends on the diameter of the pipe. External systems are installed onto the pipe, but they require enclosure vaults. In-pipe hydro systems are further segmented based on power generation capacity, as micro turbines (5 to 100 kW) and pico turbines (less than 5 kW). For the forecast period, growth in terms of CAGR is more for the pico turbines. By application, the market is segmented
Transparency Market Research (TMR) has released a report titled βIn-Pipe Hydro Systems Market: Global Industry, Size, Share, Growth, Trends, and Forecast, 2017-2025.β According to the report, the global in-pipe hydro systems market was valued at US$8.83mn in 2016 and is projected to reach $16.13mn by 2025 at a CAGR of 7.2 per cent from 2017 to 2025. The renewable energy generation industry in Asia Pacific, the Middle East, Africa and Latin America has been expanding significantly over the last few years. This has fuelled demand for innovative, cost- effective and hassle-free technologies that can generate significant amounts of energy to be utilised on a larger scale. Though renewable energy generation with wind turbines and solar panels is common, these techniques require large amount of infrastructure. In-pipe hydro technology requires no additional
Modernising gas pipe infrastructure in Michigan Consumers Energy has started construction on the Saginaw Trail Pipeline, a five-year, approximately $610mn project in Saginaw, Genesee and Oakland counties to increase natural gas reliability and safety in Michigan, USA. Crews of around 450 union skilled trades workers from Consumers Energy and construction contractor Welded Construction are removing 78 miles of 12" and 16" pipeline dating to the 1940s, and installing a new 24" pipeline. The Saginaw Trail Pipeline work will take place in five phases, beginning with an 18.5-mile stretch of pipeline in southern Saginaw and northern Genesee counties. Construction started in June and is expected to finish in December 2022. When completed, the Saginaw Trail Pipeline will reach from Tittabawassee Township in Saginaw County, to south of Milford in Oakland County. An existing pipeline in the urban areas west of Saginaw and east of Flint will be rerouted in 2018 and 2019.
