New high-strength steel with outstanding abrasion resistance

Its hardness ensures consistent resistance to abrasion that is up to three times greater than conventional high-strength steels (up to three times less weight lost under sliding sand tests compared to conventional high strength steel grades). Amstrong Wear 400’s low carbon content improves weldability, compared to equivalent high-strength steel grades. Produced using a quenching process to ensure homogeneous, consistent mechanical properties from one batch to the next, Amstrong Wear 400 is available as cut-to-length sheets in thicknesses of 4 to 6mm, widths of 1,000 to 1,650mm, and lengths of 800 to 12,000mm.
