Halle – Stand

Isend has commissioned a new system to test stainless steel tubes up to 220mm OD according to the ISO- 10893 EH1 standard. The system uses large-diameter pass- through coils with magnetisation, able to detect small defects at production speed. These tubes are intended for subsea applications in offshore platforms around the world. The system also features a demagnetis- ing unit to remove the remaining magnetism after testing. Tubacex produces seamless stainless steel tubes and pipes, and chose the Isend solution after a long decision period. The system is based on eddy current technology and has been integrated with an existing UT system, giving Tubacex a complete solution that covers its high quality standards. Tubacex’s acceptance conditions are highly demanding, and ensure that the best performance during the testing processes and the highest quality of the final products are obtained by the end user. The solution includes equipment belonging to the ENdiscover family of solutions, with a high-performance electronic unit called FOCAnalyzer, a high-power magnetising base, different coils for diameters up to 220mm OD, industrial PC with components and software, and a modern demagnetising unit.
